The SWOP Directory contains brief details of organisations which maintain collections of official publications in Scotland and details of publishers of official publications. It is intended to be of assistance to all those who use official information, for whatever purpose - members of the professions, officials of central and local government, librarians, and other information specialists. The Directory is likely to be of primary interest to users of official information in Scotland, but it is hoped that it will also meet with interest elsewhere in the UK and beyond.

This directory is designed primarily as a web-based information resource. The aim is not to duplicate information available on each of the individual organisations websites, but to link to these sites. Entries are systematically updated on an annual basis.
