| Collection description |
The Library has an extensive collection of the publications of the Westminster Parliament from the early 19th century to the present day, together with extensive holdings of the publications of government departments. The collection includes most of the major publications of the Westminster Parliament including: Command Papers, House of Commons Papers, House of Commons Bills, House of Lords Papers & Bills, the Parliamentary Debates (Hansard) and the Acts of Parliament. The print collection of 19th century papers is one of the best in Scotland. Please note that our paper holdings stop at the time of the general election, October 2010. Access is now available via Public Information Online (Univ. of Glasgow staff/students only). The Scottish Parliament collection includes all publications produced by the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Government/Executive including: Scottish Parliament Papers, Official Report of the Scottish Parliament, Official Reports of all Parliamentary Committees, Acts and Bills & other statutory publications and Scottish Government/Executive Papers. Please note that our paper holdings stop at the time of the Scottish Parliamentary Election, May 2011. Access is now available via Public Information Online (Univ. of Glasgow staff/students only). Scottish Parliamentary Acts and Debates pre -1700 are located on Level 8 of the Library. The collection also includes extensive holdings of official statistics, which includes data on population censuses, employment, agriculture, trade and industry, transport, finance, education, elections and medical provision. The Library is also a European Documentation Centre and receives copies of all major documents issued by the European Union and has access to a number of databases in Brussels and Luxembourg. The European Documentation centre is the largest source of European information in the West of Scotland and one of the largest in the United Kingdom
The Library has an extensive
Council of Europe collection which is the largest of its kind in the country and includes all major reports and policy
statements issued by the Council and the judgements and decisions of the
European Court of Human Rights. |

The collections are housed within the Maps, Official Publications and Statistics Unit on Level 7 of the Library. A specialist enquiry service is available Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. |
