Access: Members of the public may use the library as a source of reference. In addition, provided sufficient reader places are vacant, it may be used as place to study. Borrowing rights may be granted upon written application of the appropriate form, and payment of the prevailing annual subscription. Apply at the Issue Desk, preferably between 9am and 5pm, when a full reference service is available. Services: Catalogue: The Library's catalogue is accessible via telnet. Enquiries: The Library is happy to deal with enquiries from members of the public, provided this work does not adversely affect its service to the University community. No charge is levied for this service unless Library staff undertake photocopying, which is normally self-service. Inter-library loan: Official publications other than reference works and heavily used items can be made available for inter-library loan to other institutions. Subscribing members of the Library may use this service to request material other libraries at additional cost, on application at the Issue Desk. Photocopying: Self-service photocopying facilities are available in the Library. The machines are operated using pre-paid 'credit' cards, which can be purchased at the Issue Desk. They are available at 3 prices: £l, £5, & £10. Enquire at the Issue Desk (ext. 4087) for details of current values, and note that refunds for unused portions of the cards are not made. |
