Overview of DAEDALUSThe VisionDAEDALUS will establish a range of Open Digital Collections which will enable members of the University of Glasgow (and beyond) to deposit and access our scholarly output such as published and peer reviewed academic papers, pre-prints and e-theses. Why OAI Digital Collections?These digital collections implement the Open Archives Initiative's protocol for harvesting metadata (OAI-PMH). This protocol will ensure that our collections can be searched by specialised search services such as OAIster from the University of Michigan. The opportunity to unlock access these digital collections, including publicly available policy and business documents through the Open Archives Initiative will provide a wealth of information which hitherto could not be effectively exploited [since it could not be accessed] to underpin teaching and research.
