Computer Sources Tutorial
| Description: |
This tutorial is a general introduction to computer-based
bibliographic databases and how to search them for
references. The tutorial is divided into three sections:
- Basic Principles- An introduction to basic
search techniques such as using keywords,
truncation, Boolean and field searching.
- Advanced Methods- this section covers more
advanced Boolean, controlled vocabulary and
citation searching.
- Practical Exercises- an opportunity to
practise some of the techniques described in the
tutorial.

It is aimed at all students who are new to on-line
and CD-ROM database searching. |
| Requirements: |
This tutorial uses frames and Javascript and must be
viewed with an up to date version of Netscape Navigator
or Microsoft Internet Explorer. Originally authored in
Asymetrix Toolbook, the Computer Sources tutorial has
been converted for web delivery by Linda Creanor. |
